Composed by Adi Shankaracharya over a thousand years ago, Guru Paduka Stotram is a well-known sanskrit chant expressing the importance of the Guru's grace for any seeker.

Adi Shankaracharya while walking on the banks of the river Narmada in search of his spiritual master, he beheld the sandals of his Guru for the first time. In an outpouring of devotion recited the Guru Paduka Stotram.

अनंतसंसारसमुद्रतार-
नौकायिताभ्यां गुरुभक्तिदाभ्याम् ।
वैराग्यसाम्राज्यदपूजनाभ्यां
नमो नमः श्रीगुरुपादुकाभ्याम् ॥ 1 ॥

Anantha samsara samudhra thara naukayithabhyam guru bhakthithabhyam,
Vairagya samrajyadha poojanabhyam, namo nama sri guru padukabhyam.

Meaning: It is the boat that helps to cross the ocean of endless life; Bringing in me devotion to my Guru; By worshiping this I shall attain the realm of unattached life; Millions and millions of salutations to my Guru’s Padukas.

Army redeploys 500 para commandos in Jammu to hunt Pakistani terrorists
