India is set to start an e-medical visa facility for Bangladeshis.
One of the procedures for which medical visas are issued on priority is organ transplants. Since most Muslims don't donate organs and Hindus are very limited in number, there is a donor crisis in Bangladesh.
For example, from 1982 to 2017, only 1,791 kidney transplants were carried out from living-related donors in Bangladesh. Only 1,791 in 35 years! Whereas in India, approximately 10,000 living donor kidney transplants are done annually.
Needless to say, since these patients have diplomatic support, they get priority in treatment. Some "sarv dharm vada pao" hospitals go out of their way to perform these procedures for free too. All this while your own countrymen wait for months to years for the same, without any discount.
