An analysis of satellite imagery from 1984 to 2023 shows that out of 2,431 glacial lakes larger than 10 hectares, 676 have expanded notably, with 130 of these within India across the Indus, Ganga, and Brahmaputra river basins.

The woman wanted to end her friendship with Aftab after the murder of Neha Hiremath, went to meet Aftab to return the gifts but was scolded and slapped repeatedly by Aftab.

The woman said Aftab asked her to meet him at a public place and return the gifts. "It was a public place, so I felt safe and went there. When I went to return the gifts and asked him to end our friendship, he assaulted me. He hit me with a heavy object on my head," she further said.
