Telangana: Four suspects, including AIMIM Jalpally in-charge Ahmed Saadi, and Jalpally Municipal Council chairman Abdullah Saadi, have been arrested in the murder case of Shaik Sayeed Bawazeer.

Police said that the AIMIM party leaders paid ₹13 lakh to a rowdy-sheeter to murder Bawazeer as he was sharing videos against them on social media.

According to the police, Bawazeer and accused Hajeb met at Chanchalguda central prison in 2021 and developed a sexual relationship. They continued to meet on and off even after their release from jail and Bawazeer used to coerce Hajeb to bring his friends too. On one occasion, Bawazeer tried to force himself onto Mohammed Ayub Khan.

Hajab lured Bawazeer to his office under the pretext of introducing him to another individual for a homosexual encounter. However, Hajab attacked Bawazeer with chilli powder and a knife, causing his death on the spot.

Mohabbat Ali, wanted by the NIA in connection with its probe into a case of smuggling gold bars into India, has been brought back from Saudi Arabia, with the help of Interpol and CBI.

Mohabbat Ali was among the 18 people named by NIA in its charge sheet filed in connection with the July 2020 case when gold bars, weighing 18.5 kg, were seized at Jaipur International Airport from 10 people, who had arrived from Saudi Arabia’s capital, Riyadh.

An Interpol red notice was published against Mohabbat Ali on September 13, 2021 on a request from NIA.
