Mallapuram, Kerala: A five-member gang was arrested by the Melattur police for allegedly creating and circulating a video of hurling a bomb at the police station.

The accused have been identified as Poduvannikkal natives Mohamed Riyas (25), Mohamed Hawaz (22), Salim (20), Muhammad Jasim (19) and Salmanul Fariz (19).

ED has arrested Tamil Nadu Minister Senthil Balaji's brother Ashok in a money laundering case.

Earlier this week, the ED had frozen a 2.49-acre land located in Karur, valued at more than Rs 30 crore, belonging to Ashok's wife Nirmala, after several rounds of raids and a detailed inquiry into assets acquired by Balaji and his relatives.

Kerala Assembly has unanimously adopted a resolution urging the Central government to officially change the name of the State from 'Kerala' to 'Keralam'.

The resolution was moved by CM Pinarayi Vijayan who urged the Centre to change the state's name to 'Keralam' in all languages included in the Eighth Schedule of the Constitution of India.
