Railways authorities, UP police and local administration, carried out a huge demolition, to remove encroachments in the backyard of Sri Krishna Janmbhoomi in Mathura.

Petitioner Yakub (66) argued that the railways lacked the authority to demolish around 200 houses, along the railway track.

Gopeshwar Chaturvedi, a member of the Sri Krishna Janmbhoomi Seva Sansthan noted - “The Shahi Eidgah mosque stands as another encroachment, with about 15 ongoing petitions before the Allahabad High Court seeking its removal from the land where a temple once stood. Today, these encroachments alongside the railway track have been removed through due legal process. In the future, we may witness the removal of the Shahi Eidgah mosque as well.”

At least 12 social media groups on WhatsApp, Facebook, Twitter and Telegram with thousands of followers from across the Mewat region of Haryana and Rajasthan - have been traced back to Pakistan.

These groups not only instigated mobs to “give it all” for the community during the Nuh violence, but were also flooded with celebratory messages after the attack.

Investigators said they were having a tough task with Telegram groups as a majority of these left behind no digital footprints or records. The accounts are under the radar of national security agencies also.
