Maharashtra ATS and UP ATS in a joint operation have arrested Sayyed Armaan (62) and Mohammad Salman Siddhique (24) - a suspected agent and recruiter for Pakistan’s Inter-Service Intelligence (ISI) from Mumbai's Jogeshwari on Sunday.

The duo is said to have helped another suspected ISI agent Mohammad Raees, who was arrested in UP, for allegedly supplying information about Indian military establishments to his handler in Pakistan.

NIA attaches residence of Arif Abubakar Shaikh aka Arif Bhaijaan, a prime accused in the terror funding case against the Dawood Ibrahim gang. 

On February 3, 2022, the agency had registered a case against Dawood, his brother Anees and Chhota Shakeel among others for their alleged involvement in arms smuggling, narco-terrorism, money laundering, circulation of fake Indian currency notes and other charges.

They were also accused of being involved in acquisition of assets for raising terror funds and working in active collaboration with international terrorist organization like Lashkar-e-Taiba, Jaish-e-Mohammad and Al Qaeda.

Kozhikode man fell for a fraud, that used sophisticated "deepfake" technology to convince him to transfer money to a supposed former colleague.

According to police, the perpetrator used AI-powered face-swapping technology (deepfake) to impersonate a former colleague of Radhakrishnan. During a video call, Radhakrishnan was requested by the 'former colleague' (deepfake) to send money for the medical treatment of the latter's sister.
