Directorate of Revenue Intelligence (DRI) unearthed a novel modus operandi of heroin smuggling into India through the land route at India-Pakistan border. A consignment of brooms was intercepted at Integrated Check Post, Attari, Amritsar. On examination, 5.480 kg of recovered Heroin valued at Rs 38.36 crores in the international market was seized on 11th May.
In the consignment of 4,000 pieces of brooms in 40 bags, the heroin was stealthily filled in 442 hollow short pieces/sticks of river cane/bamboo (in 3 bags) with ends of such sticks artificially sealed and such sticks were further concealed/camouflaged by being placed/packed inside โAfghan Broomsโ which were tied up with iron wire on the outside: Ministry of Finance

More than โน100 crore fraud unearthed in Nuh district of Haryana, 66 arrested.
With their arrests, about 28,000 cases of cyber fraud have been traced across the country.
On the intervening night of April 27-28, 102 teams of 5,000 policemen simultaneously raided 14 villages on 320 targetted locations, in the Nuh district, Haryana.
During the raids, 166 fake Aadhaar cards, five PAN cards, 128 ATM cards, 66 mobile phones, 99 SIM cards, five POS machines and three laptops were recovered.
Already 1,346 FIRs have been registered against these cyber fraudsters across the country.
The investigation also revealed information about 219 accounts of private and public sector banks and 140 UPI accounts which were being used for committing cyber frauds.
As per the Population Census 2011 data, Nuh (or Mewat) district has more than 76% Muslim population, which would have increased by now.
