Oral sex is fuelling an "epidemic" of throat cancer, which has now become more common than cervical cancer in the UK and the US : Report

During the last two decades, western countries like the UK, the US, and Australia have seen a sharp uptick in cases of throat cancer, particularly oropharyngeal cancer, which affects the tonsils and the back of the throat.

Oropharyngeal cancer is primarily caused by the Human Papilloma Virus (HPV), which is transmitted from sexual partners, especially through oral sex.
