A Pakistani West Midlands Police officer allegedly 'tipped off' a child rape suspect who fled to Pakistan.

Sergeant Iftikhar Ali has been accused of tipping off the suspect by reading crime reports and warning the male how serious the case was.

The suspect subsequently skipped bail and has never returned to face trial, a jury was told. Ali, the Police officer aged 43, stands trial at Birmingham Crown Court.
