On Saturday, April 1, 2023, 'Abdul Aziz Kawam' used a knife to slash the throat of a passenger riding a bus in Surrey, British Columbia, Canada. The victim fought back and managed to throw the suspect out of the back doors of the bus. Unfortunately, the victim has been left with life-threatening injuries.

News outlets and authorities in Canada quickly reported that Abdul Aziz Kawam could just be suffering from mental illness.

Two top leaders of Assam's unit of the banned group Popular Front of India (PFI) - Abu Sama Ahmed and Jakir Hussain arrested by Assam Police.

Police have also arrested Sahidul Islam, a leader of another banned group Campus Front of India (CFI).

Police have recovered Rs 1.5 lakh, four mobile phones and some pamphlets of the two outfits from their possession, officials said.
