New York's Metropolitan Museum of Art will return back to India, the pieces allegedly trafficked by convicted antiquities smuggler Subhash Kapoor.

The artifacts reportedly range in date from the 1st century BCE to the 11th century CE, with one valued at more than a million dollars.

The museum returned 307 trafficked archaeological items worth nearly $4 million to India last year.

Kapoor was arrested by Interpol in Germany in 2011 and is currently imprisoned in India.

Leaders of the BRICS alliance-Brazil, Russia, India, China, and South Africa-are reportedly working on a new currency system with the apparent aim to ditch the dollar in their international trade.

Russian lawmaker Alexander Babakov reportedly said that the new currency would be based on a strategy that "does not defend the dollar or euro" and would be secured by gold and other commodities such as rare-earth elements. Other member states of the BRICS alliance are yet to confirm the announcement.
