1️⃣ China has reported its highest weekly COVID-19 hospitalisations since pandemic began, according to a weekly report published by the WHO.

2️⃣ The number of people hospitalised with the disease in China in the week through to January 15 rose by 70% to 63,307 versus the previous week, the WHO report said.

2️⃣ Sharif, who is the founder of PML-N, was convicted in corruption cases in Pakistan and was sentenced to jail. He is currently residing in the UK and has refused to return to Pakistan, citing a health condition.
