Since it can’t buy directly from Russia, the US is procuring 200k bpd of refined products from Reliance, with Nayara its second largest Indian exporter. (Telegraph)

To cater to the surge in demand, India has been breaking its own import records - buying 1.7mn bpd crude from Russia this month, a steep rise from a then-record level of 1.2mn bpd in Dec 2022.

US imports of petroleum products have reportedly surged 23% since last year, with total trade amounting to $3.2bn between Feb and Nov 2022.

A Delhi based gang namely - Nizam Shaikh, Aksar Shaikh and Anwar Shaikh, that looted seven homes in Mumbai, arrested.

UP: Mehmood Hasan Gazi, Mohd Monish and Sameer arrested for spreading ill information about Hindu texts and propagating conversion at Magh Mela in Prayagraj.

They had also distributed objectionable books for free, at other Hindu religious places including Kashi Vishwanath Temple and Assi Ghat in Varanasi, Hanuman temple at Prayagraj.

During interrogation, Ghazi confessed that he used to get funding from Abu Dhabi via a local person in Shahganj area, for religious conversion.

204 suspicious Islamic books, 3 mobiles, 4 aadhaar cards, ₹2600 cash and a diary were recovered from their possession.

Mohd Monish aka Ashish Gupta had converted to Islam two yeads ago, under influence of his uncle Saeed Ahmad.

Sameer aka Naresh Kumar Saroj converted to Islam around 12 years back and had married a Muslim woman.

16 people including Ukraine's interior minister Denys Monastyrskyi and other senior ministry officials killed in a helicopter crash near a kindergarten, outside Kyiv in the town of Brovary.

Ukraine’s national police said that two children were among those killed and that 22 victims, including 10 children, were hospitalized.

Kerala: Police has registered cases against two teachers in two different POCSO cases in Kannur and Kasaragod districts.

Mohammed a madrasa teacher at Thalassery, was arrested on the charge of molesting an eight-year-old girl. 

In Kasaragod, the police registered a case against Yusuf (40), a school teacher under the POCSO Act on the charge of sexually abusing a Class 2 student.

RBI has warned on reversion to the old pension scheme by some states, saying it poses a major risk on the "subnational fiscal horizon" and would result in accumulation of unfunded liabilities in the coming years for them.
