Supreme Court dismisses petition challenging the decision of the States of Uttarakhand and Gujarat for constituting committees for introducing and implementing the Uniform Civil Code (UCC).

The Bench stated that there was nothing wrong if States form committees as Article 162 of Constitution gives the power to executive to do so.

Owner of Goa Gutka brand JM Joshi, 1993 Bombay serial blast accused Mohammed Farukh and Jamiruddin Ansari convicted under the Maharashtra Control of Organised Crime Act (MCOCA), and sentenced to 10 years in jail.

The case pertains to helping fugitive Gangster Dawood Ibrahim Kaskar, Anees Ibrahim Kaskar, Abdul Antulay, Salim Shaikh and Mohammed Mansuri, to set up a gutka plant in Karachi, Pakistan.

The court said they were “members and co-conspirators of the organised crime syndicate headed by Dawood Ibrahim".

Rasiklal Dhariwal, the founder of Manikchand group, was also named as an accused in the case. The case against him was abated after he passed away in 2017.

Kejriwal govt has spent Rs 25.25 crores as lawyers’ fee to fight its case in the Liquor excise policy scam.

Senior advocate and Congress MP Dr. Abhishek Manu Singhvi had received Rs 18.97 crores of the Rs 25.25 crores as the lawyers' fee.

Firoz Khan abducted a Hindu woman at gun point from Noida after she refused his Love Jihad proposal.

Caught on a Expressway road by Mathura Police' PCR van while he was loading magazine with the intention to kill the woman .

The victim woman used to work in a company in Delhi earlier, being upset with Firoz, she shifted to Noida.

Somehow Firoz had found out that the victim lived in Noida, after which he late night abducted the victim at gunpoint and was going towards Agra via the expressway in the car with the intention of killing her.

While on the Expressway near Mathura he was loading the gun magazine, the patrolling vehicle of Mathura police prevented a major incident from happening, saved the girl from the clutches of Firoz.
