West Bengal: Family members of Muslim students of a GOVERMENT school in the east Medinipur district, staged a protest against an alleged attempt to ‘desecrate’ their faith by feeding ‘Jhatka’ chicken to Muslim students.

Owner of Goa Gutka brand JM Joshi, 1993 Bombay serial blast accused Mohammed Farukh and Jamiruddin Ansari convicted under the Maharashtra Control of Organised Crime Act (MCOCA), and sentenced to 10 years in jail.

The case pertains to helping fugitive Gangster Dawood Ibrahim Kaskar, Anees Ibrahim Kaskar, Abdul Antulay, Salim Shaikh and Mohammed Mansuri, to set up a gutka plant in Karachi, Pakistan.

The court said they were “members and co-conspirators of the organised crime syndicate headed by Dawood Ibrahim".

Rasiklal Dhariwal, the founder of Manikchand group, was also named as an accused in the case. The case against him was abated after he passed away in 2017.
