UN gives bronze award under it's World Habitat Awards 2023 to Odisha for Jaga Mission
Jaga mission is the world's largest land titling and slum upgrading program which aims at empowering the lives of slum dwellers.
The Government of Odisha has set itself the ambitious target of becoming the first slum-free state in India and is leading the Jaga Mission programme to upgrade all of the state's 2,919 slums.
Till now in 2,724 slums 100 percent of households have been provided with pipe water connections, and 707 slums transformed fully into Liveable Habitats

Female professor reportedly fired from her job, for showing the paintings of Prophet Muhammad to her students during a global art history class at Hamline University in Minnesota in the United States.
One painting dated back to the 14th century (created by Persian scholar Rashฤซd al-Dฤซn) while another painting was made in the 16th century (by Mustafa ibn Vali).
Several Muslim students took offence to the display of the historic paintings and claimed that the professorโs actions constituted Islamophobia.
The President of the Muslim Student Association (MSA), Aram Wedatalla said - โAs a Muslim, and a Black person, I donโt feel like I belong, and I donโt think Iโll ever belong in a community where they donโt value me as a member, and they donโt show the same respect that I show them.โ
