Maharashtra: Workers of three state-owned power companies go on 72-hour strike against privatisation.

Some Labour unions at the three companies which represent 86,000 employees, are protesting against giving of electricity distribution license to Adani Electricity.

However, the Maharashtra government has invoked the provisions of the Maharashtra Essential Services Maintenance Act (MESMA) restraining the employees of the three State-run power companies from participating in the strike.

US-based billionaire Darshan Singh Dhaliwal, 71, who was not allowed to enter India for supporting the farmers’ protest against the now-repealed three farm laws, has been selected for the Pravasi Bharatiya Samman, the highest honour given by the Indian government.

Dhaliwal was running a “langar” (community kitchen) for protesting farmers at the Singhu border near Delhi.

This must be 3rd or 4th time this mahagathbandhan govt has assaulted students protesting for various demands. 9 lakh applications were received for BSSC exam.

Germany has officially rejected polish demand asking Germany to pay $1.3 trillion for WWII reparations claim. The German FM said "the issue was closed".

West Bengal Post-poll violence: Court orders arrest warrant against Mamata Banerjee’s election agent and TMC leader Sheikh Sufiyan and three others, for murder of BJP supporter Debabrata Maity.

CBI which is probing the murder, in its supplementary charge sheet - said that Sheikh Sufiyan, another TMC leader Abu Taher and two other accused persons were not cooperating with the agency.

Tamil Nadu has been placed under a state of very high alert after it was learnt that one of Sri Lanka's notorious drug lords, 'Kanjipani' alias Mohammed Imran had entered the country through coastal Rameswaram.
