At least 873 officers of the Kerala Police have links with the now-banned Popular Front of India (PFI), according to a report handed over by the National Investigation Agency (NIA) to the Kerala State Police Chief.

Officials in the Sub-Inspector (SI) and Station Head Officer (SHO) ranks, and the civil police personnel are under the scan of the Central Agencies.

The NIA list includes personnel belonging to the Special Branch, Intelligence, Law and Order wings and those entrusted with the office works of top Kerala Police officers.

Last February, a Civil Police Officer Anas PK attached to Karimannoor police station in Thodupuzha was terminated from service for allegedly leaking details of Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) leaders to the PFI.

According to intelligence reports, Anas PK allegedly leaked over 200 RSS and BJP workers' personal information from a police database to SDPI/PFI.

Three police personnel, including an SI, were transferred from Munnar police station on similar charges.

In September, C A Siyad, a civil police officer attached to the Kalady police station in Ernakulam, was suspended for assisting PFI during the state-wide hartal on September 23.

As per the report, Siyad was in constant touch with the PFI workers for a long time.

"He also helped three PFI workers after they were taken into custody in connection with the agitation carried out on the hartal day. He also helped the trio by taking them on station bail. Moreover, he also ensured they got food inside the station," said a police officer based on the report.

The police also found that despite being a police officer, he had a strong network with the PFI workers.

"The call records clearly show that he has a strong network with the PFI workers. Moreover, he helped them several times. We also found that one of his close relatives is a member of the banned outfit," added the officer.

Delhi Police is investigating a group of individuals who duped many people of around Rs 500 croreeon the pretext of investing in their upcoming cryptocurrency.

They had claimed to offer a staggering 200% returns on the investments, within one year, and an assured 5% to 20% monthly returns along with other various benefits and awards.

One of the victims, who was allegedly duped of Rs 1.47 crore, told police that the new cryptocurrency was claimed to be equivalent to USD 2.5 at present and the rate was going to skyrocket in the future.
