PM Modi lays foundation stone of IAF Deesa Airbase, Gujarat.
Deesa is situated some 130km from the Indo-Pak border and this proximity will help reduce the aerial distance in Indian Air Defence along the western border.
The Airbase will be built in record 21 months at a cost of 1000 crores and will provide much needed security shield to western industrial hubs.
Air response time to reduce by 355kms once the airbase is operational.
