In 1705 , the Portuguese Government of Goa introduced a Eight rupee annual tax (when monthly salary was 5-10 rupees) for keeping เคถเฅเคเคกเฅ or choti.
But the Xenddi tax was not payable by those who converted from Hinduism to Christianity.
