Project to produce 400 Vande Bharat

India has started a project to produce 400 Vande Bharat trains. The nation must add 72 more of these trains by August 2023, bringing the total to 75. The plan is for this third trainset to continue operating commercially while at the same time the railway production units continue to crank out more trains each month to hit the goal. In the forthcoming Vande Bharat trains, the government wants to swap them out for locally produced materials. The introduction of Vande Bharat with sleeper berths for overnight trips is also in the pipeline.
