China has begun deploying AI-powered laser weed-control machines that use cameras and artificial intelligence to distinguish crops from unwanted plants before targeting weeds with precision lasers.

The technology can reduce reliance on chemical herbicides. One Chinese system has also been shipped to Australia, where laser-based weed control is already being adopted.
