US Has Lost at Least 45 MQ-9 Reapers During Iran War

The U.S. military has lost at least 45 MQ-9 Reaper drones during the 2026 conflict with Iran, equivalent to roughly 25% of its pre-war Reaper fleet, according to three U.S. officials familiar with Pentagon data.

More than $1.3 billion, based on an estimated $30–50 million per Reaper, depending on configuration, sensors and weapons.

Not all were shot down, A fourth U.S. official said an undisclosed number of aircraft crashed after losing communications/data links with their ground controllers.
