🚨US ORDERS DEFENCE INDUSTRY TO RAPIDLY BOOST WEAPONS PRODUCTION

The U.S. Department of War has directed defence companies to accelerate weapons production and deliveries as the five-month war with Iran has significantly depleted American munitions stockpiles, according to The Washington Post.

The Pentagon is particularly concerned about shortages of long-range missiles and air-defence interceptors, including Tomahawk, ATACMS, PrSM, Patriot and THAAD systems.

The directive comes as Washington faces growing pressure to replenish depleted weapons stocks and expand production capacity.

INDIAN RAILWAYS SEES 88% DROP IN CONSEQUENTIAL TRAIN ACCIDENTS

Indian Railways has recorded a major improvement in rail safety, with consequential train accidents falling from 135 in FY2014–15 to just 16 in FY2025–26 — an 88% reduction.

Only 2 consequential train accidents were recorded in the first quarter of FY2026–27, through June 2026.

The Railway Ministry attributes the improvement to higher safety spending, modern signalling, Kavach automatic train protection, infrastructure upgrades and enhanced track maintenance.

Safety-related expenditure has also risen from ₹39,200 crore in FY2013–14 to ₹1.20 lakh crore estimated for FY2026–27.
