In Another Embarrassment, French Mother and Five Children Rescued from Decade-Long Captivity Of Muslim Husband In Pakistan

A French woman, 54-year-old Sylvie Yasmina, and her five children have been rescued in Pakistan after her Pakistani husband kept the family confined and abused for more than 12 years.

According to police, the family moved from Australia to Pakistan in 2014 and was allegedly held in isolation in a small room in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa's Bara town.

The rescue was triggered when one of her sons managed to escape and alert authorities. Police found the family with visible injuries, arrested the husband, and shifted the mother and children to a shelter in Peshawar. The family is reportedly preparing to return to France.
