June 04: Police Station Sonamarg, acting on credible information received on 27/05/2026, learned that a suspect identified as Mohd Ayob Jara son of Abdul Rehman Jara, resident of Androola, Poonch, was roaming in the Domail area and falsely impersonating himself as a government employee deployed on the Domail axis of the Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra route.

The accused was allegedly deceiving visiting vendors and service providers by claiming that he could facilitate their access to the Holy Cave Shrine in lieu of money. Through this fraudulent representation, he attempted to cheat unsuspecting individuals associated with the Yatra.

In this regard, a case under relevant sections of law was registered at Police Station Sonamarg and investigation was taken up.
