According to him, the S-400s delivered in 2019 are unused and mothballed, yet their very presence still strains Turkey’s ties with NATO and the US. Ankara was removed from the F-35 program after acquiring them.

Some reports suggest Israel may target Turkey in the near future — and without the S-400 system, Turkey could face serious challenges in defending itself.
