Bangladeshi national Mamun Hasan has been arrested for living in Dehradun for years using fake Indian identity papers under the name Sachin Chauhan.

His live-in partner Reena Chauhan helped him forge Aadhaar, PAN and other documents using her ex-husband’s details- also arrested.

The two met on Facebook, illegally crossed the Indo–Bangladesh border in 2022, married there, and slipped back into India without valid papers—living as a couple for 3 years.

A raid at Alaknanda Enclave recovered multiple forged IDs. Police investigating source of forged documents and bigger conspiracy.
