1. Rationalized GST Slabs
•A simplified structure is now in place, with only three tax slabs:
•5% for Electric Vehicles (EVs) and other select items
•18% for small cars and two-wheelers up to 350 cc
•40% for larger cars, premium SUVs, and high-capacity motorcycles

2. Entry-Level Vehicles—Big Savings for Buyers
•Small cars up to 1,200 cc petrol (or 1,500 cc diesel) and under 4 m in length now get taxed only at 18% instead of the previous ~29–31% (including cess). That’s a tax drop of 11–13 percentage points.

•Savings translate to 8–12% lower ex-showroom prices:
•Maruti Swift: ~₹60 k less
•Hyundai i20: ~₹80 k less
•Tata Punch: ~₹60 k less

•Two-wheelers under 350 cc also benefit with an 18% slab—a tax cut of ~10 percentage points, yielding ₹7,000–₹15,000 in savings depending on model.

3. Premium SUVs, Large Cars & High-Capacity Bikes—Still Expensive, but Some Relief
•These vehicles previously attracted 28% GST + cess (up to ~22%), totaling 43–50%. Now redesigned to a flat 40% GST, easing the tax burden:
•Toyota Fortuner: Up to ₹3.49 lakh price drop
•Mahindra XUV700: ₹97,000–₹1.58 lakh savings
•Innova Crysta: ₹1.34 lakh–₹1.82 lakh savings
