Let me share something a bit different this time. On April 5th, I tweeted about a side project I was working on—a research and development project focused on creating the famous Maldivian traditional game called Digu, which resembles Gin rummy. In this game, players must create three melds, with two consisting of three cards and the other of four cards. At the time of the tweet, I had already completed the single-player mode, allowing users to play against the computer, while the multiplayer mode was still pending. Initially, I didn't plan to complete the multiplayer portion, and jokingly stated that I would publish the game on both the Apple App Store and Android Play Store if I received 10 retweets. To my surprise, the tweet surpassed the retweet target.

True to my word, I began working on the multiplayer portion, adding native support. This must have been the first project I had worked on websockets for MP. Anyway we all start at some point. Today, after overcoming 5 rejections on the Android Play Store and 5 on iOS, each requiring multiple builds and version changes, I'm thrilled to share the final releases as promised. If I reach 40 likes and 20 retweets here: https://x.com/eyaadh/status/1782828243483267254?s=46&t=4_-JjZEbiI7hrQ48jDL8qw, I'll definitely open-source the code 😉

This is just a random video, but here’s the backstory: My wife received a message on Facebook claiming that there were photos of her posted on some sketchy website. She immediately told me, and I asked her to send me the link. We had a good laugh about it because we knew there wouldn't be anything inappropriate—since we don’t engage in anything like that. Most likely, someone took some pictures from her public Instagram and did something with them. As it turns out, this was a phishing attempt. This video shows how I responded.

Turning a Joke into Innovation: AI Integration in Our Daily Task Manager 🚀

I'm excited to share how a light-hearted suggestion turned into a game-changing innovation at my workplace! 🤖

Not too long ago, while discussing our Daily Task Manager, one of our EXCOM members jokingly suggested integrating AI to help generate updates. As a self-proclaimed tech enthusiast, I confidently said it would be a piece of cake. Little did I know that this playful remark would spark a project that could potentially enhance our workflow!

By harnessing the power of AI, we’ve streamlined the process of writing updates, making it easier for our team to communicate effectively. With AI handling these tasks, we can focus more on what truly matters—our work!

Curious to learn how we made this happen? Check out my latest blog post where I dive deeper into the integration process and the technology behind it!

I hope this inspires you to explore innovative solutions in your own projects. Let’s embrace the power of AI together!

Until next time, ciao! ✨

Cafè Menu is a custom-built project for a close friend of mine who runs a small cafè. The goal was to create a simple yet powerful application for managing an online menu, accepting customer orders, and streamlining internal workflows.

Source Code: https://github.com/eyaadh/cafeMenu

It definetely has a lot of room for improvement & some brilliant feedback I got are:
- Add a stepper for quantity selection (Edm_Xhr)
- Show progress during order submission (AthfanK)
- Integrate payment & set default quantity (aruhamm)

Feel free to fork and put in your taste to it! for now I will take a break from the project and move onto a different one.
Building secure and scalable web applications means more than just having strong code—it’s about protecting your infrastructure and optimizing performance.

In my latest article, I explore the critical role of reverse proxies in modern web architecture. From enhancing security and load balancing to leveraging modern solutions like Cloudflare Tunnels and Workers, I’ve covered it all.

Plus, I dive into practical configurations with Node.js, NGINX, and Apache to show how you can secure locally hosted applications while keeping your backend protected from threats.

Ransomware continues to evolve, posing ever-growing threats to businesses and individuals alike. In my latest blog post, I take a deep dive into ransomware from a programmer's perspective, focusing on key defense strategies and advanced technologies. I cover:
🔒 How ransomware works and its devastating effects
🗞️ The history of major attacks and lessons learned
💾 The importance of immutable backups, offsite storage, and shadow copies
🛡️ Why EDR (Endpoint Detection and Response) & XDR (Extended Detection and Response) are crucial in detecting and neutralizing threats
👮 The critical role of Managed Security Service Providers (MSSPs) in ransomware defense
🐍 Simulating real-world ransomware attacks using Python to better understand and prepare for potential scenarios
With proactive measures, cutting-edge technologies like AI-driven solutions (e.g., SentinelOne), and the right MSSP partners such as OXIQA, we can stay one step ahead in the fight against cybercrime.
