reasons u should never gift someone anything:

they won’t realise it’s significance, might not even use it for months, will have excuse for every fucking shit reason for why they couldn’t, u & your gifts will be taken for granted, they will start feeling in their heads & hearts that they can never lose u so they feel it’s okay doesn’t matters nothing serious and ultimately it’s you who will be hurt every single day

so one of my resolutions for the coming year is to not gift any single thing to people who don’t deserve a shit - hard to identify but important enough to do so for my own mental & emotional health
