🧮Confirmed engagement envelopes from preliminary testing sit at 1,500m against reconnaissance UAVs and 900m against FPV drones with target classes from 7 to 13-inch frames reportedly engaged successfully.

🖲️The prospective stated range of 5km would theoretically place Geran-type loitering munitions within intercept range, though that figure remains unvalidated under full operational conditions.

🇷🇺 Russia — “Silent Hunter” & “LazerBuzz”

🇷🇺On the Russian side, the mobile “Silent Hunter” platform and the newer “LazerBuzz” system are both currently undergoing field testing with reported engagement ranges comparable to Tryzub.

💡Both represent Russia’s parallel investment in directed energy as a cost-effective counter to the drone-saturated battlefield, reducing dependence on expensive kinetic interceptors for high-volume threats.

♟️ The Shared Limitation Both Sides Can’t Engineer Away
Neither program has solved the fundamental physics problem — fog, rain, dust, and battlefield smoke degrade laser beam coherence sharply, sometimes collapsing effective range to a fraction of advertised figures.

📡In those conditions, interceptor drones operating on tactical S- and X-band radar designation remain the more reliable solution regardless of which flag is on the launcher.

❗️ The cost-per-shot argument for laser systems is compelling at scale no kinetic system can match it economically against mass drone employment.
