➡️ Five days ago, Israeli forces withdrew from Zawtar El Gharbiyeh, handing the town to the Lebanese army as the first “pilot zone” test of the US-brokered framework.

➡️ Lebanese engineering teams are still clearing unexploded ordnance from a town the mayor says is more than half destroyed the demolitions carried out during the occupation are what “withdrawal” actually looks like on the ground here.

➡️ In the same window, Israeli forces are pushing deeper into Kfar Tebnit from Hama Arnoun, further into Kfarchouba toward Ain Aata in the Chebaa Farms sector, and north past Haddatha and through Kounine toward Beit Yahoun, three separate sectors where ground is being taken, not returned.

➡️ The units freed up by leaving Zawtar El Gharbiyeh appear to be reinforcing Zawtar El Charqiyeh next door, the same neighboring town residents can’t safely return to because Israel still holds it.

➡️ The clearest signal is Ali al-Taher hill Israeli forces first pushed for this ridge above Nabatieh back in June, after taking Beaufort Castle, and failed to secure it against dug-in positions believed to sit above a fortified underground network.

🚫The renewed push toward it now isn’t incidental it’s Israel returning to unfinished business from the war, using the ceasefire’s reduced pressure to attempt what direct assault couldn’t achieve months earlier.

🚫One town handed back with half its buildings gone.

🚫Several others being quietly absorbed That’s the ceasefire as currently practiced.
