⚡️🇮🇱🇵🇸 — The IDF has sealed the 16-kilometer tunnel in southern Rafah where Lieutenant Hadar Goldin was held following his abduction during Operation Protective Edge in 2014. Goldin was returned for burial in November 2025 as part of the hostage framework agreement.

➡️ The operation involved the Yahalom Unit and Shayetet 13, used over 30,000 cubic meters of concrete, and took three months to complete. The tunnel complex contained approximately 80 living quarters and served as a Hamas command-and-control center, running beneath a residential neighborhood, mosques, schools, and UNRWA facilities — IDF.

"On Saturday, the IDF struck a Hamas underground terror infrastructure site in Deir al-Balah, in the Gaza Strip.

In recent weeks, the IDF identified that, in violation of the ceasefire agreement, the Hamas terrorist organization had been attempting to restore the infrastructure. Accordingly, three targets within the underground infrastructure site were struck in order to dismantle it.

The Hamas terrorist organization systematically embeds its infrastructure in the heart of the civilian population in the Gaza Strip, cynically exploiting civilians and using them as human shields to advance terrorist attacks."

⚡️🇷🇺💡📡 — Eyes at 32 Meters The Case for Radar Masts Against Low-Flying Missiles and UAVs Solution Analysis:

🔴 Another long-overdue solution one that has proven itself over four decades for more effective detection and interception of ultra-low-altitude aerial objects is two modifications of universal masts: the 40V6M and 40V6MD, designed for the 30N6 and 92N6 illumination and guidance radars used in the S-300PS, PM, and S-400 systems.

➡️ The latter modification raises the electrical center of the radar antenna array to a height of 32 meters, enabling detection of targets flying at altitudes of 15 meters at ranges of up to 40 km Consequently, 10 such masts with antenna posts, positioned 50–80 km apart from one another (depending on terrain features), are capable of covering a missile-threat axis up to 550–880 km wide.

🔴 Naturally, this significantly multiplies the probability of successfully intercepting cruise missiles such as the FP-5 Flamingo, Ruta, Storm Shadow, Neptune-MD, TigerShark, as well as UAVs including the Bars, FP-1/2, Lyuty, RZ-60 Morok, and others.

➡️ Even more importantly, these masts can optionally host not only the 30N6/92N6 illumination radars for S-300/400 systems, but also all-altitude detectors (96L6), and with additional structural and hardware adaptation modern multifunctional radars such as the OVP from TsKBA (the Central Design Bureau of Automation) The latter are specifically designed to detect kamikaze UAVs and provide target designation to a wide range of consumers, including mobile fire groups (MOGs) and kamikaze UAV crews.

🔴 Such radar-equipped masts could play an enormous role for improvised mobile SAM systems armed with R-77/R-77-1 missiles in an anti-aircraft configuration fitted with active radar homing seekers Detection and target designation can be provided even when an aerial threat is flying in terrain-following mode using riverbeds and terrain folds and is outside the line of sight of the crew.

➡️ However, the deployment time for these masts is significantly longer than for the mobile elevating and rotating devices 9S838 with 9S36/M radars from the Buk-M2/3 SAM system, and therefore their use is better suited for the deep rear, where the risk of destruction by large UAV swarms from the Ukrainian Armed Forces will be considerably lower than in areas covered by Starlink.

➡️ To preserve combat survivability, each such mast should additionally be protected by the latest ZAK-30 Tsitadel (Citadel) anti-aircraft gun systems, as well as Pantsir-SMD combat modules, or lower-cost solutions such as the Redut-UR complex.
