I woke up this morning thinking I would not do my routine today —- that I would rest from yesterday. But I can't bear not to do it. I want to do it. I have a different routine to help my brain grok this morning. I love the rhythm of being active as my body slowly reconditions itself to more regular activity. The body wants to move. The greatest and most important challenge is in facilitating the increasingly familiar movement practices of the body at the most gradual possible pace, the pace that allows for best stability, resilience, and learning. Even more incremental. Even more gradual. How about this small part, does the body know this well? Even more, let's slow down. Every movement can be centered in breath; every movement can be profoundly grounded.

Trying harder to do so often presages unpleasant physiological breakdowns. • If I want healing expressions to flow, I must catch them in the present and share them as immediately as possible, in the moment, before I lose them to inflammation or traumatic amnesia. • I have decided to make this a strength instead of a weakness. :-) • My primary approach embraces the nourishment offered in the present moment. It maximizes environmental awareness, including awareness of uniquely challenging social needs, and it maximizes creative, integrative flow. This improves brain plasticity and somatic learning, and also makes greatest possible use of mirror neurons in adapted – for now usually electronic – social interactions. • Music, art, story, dream, poetry, and the honoring of lived experience are all keen advantages. • In this context, I’m rewiring my neurology through meaningful experience. • I’m working around the parts too damaged to work with yet, while I grow new neural networks with creative new purposes and possibilities wherever else I can (wherever the inflammation is lowest, and changing from moment to moment). • When I exert myself creatively, I also must recover from the crash afterwards. Sometimes those crashes are life-threateningly severe. Kevin Annett's life is at risk: An Urgent Appeal

Kevin is unable to afford urgent kidney surgery: Help him now as he has helped so many for so long

Many people know and love Kevin Annett Eagle Strong Voice as an unrelenting and courageous fighter for justice and for children. Those of us who have worked alongside him know him to be a loving and humble man who has never asked for anything for himself, but has devoted his life to serve others.

But now, on his behalf, we are asking for those who support Kevin to repay some of what he has given to humanity.

Last month, Kevin was diagnosed with an unusually large kidney stone that is unable to pass, and is continuing to grow. Very soon, it will threaten his kidney and cause other, possibly permanent damage.

His kidney stone must be surgically removed, but the cost of such surgery may exceed $40,000, since his British Columbia Medical Plan does not cover this procedure outside of the province. (Reluctantly, Kevin was forced to leave B.C. last summer after repeated attacks were made against his life.) At age 65, Kevin has little savings, has been permanently blacklisted from employment for over twenty years, and is blocked by the Canadian government from receiving Old Age Security and a pension.

We, the Friends of Kevin Annett, are asking you and those you know with the financial means to help us pay for the cost of Kevin's kidney operation. We have already raised $5000 in donations but our goal is to raise $50,000, which will cover his treatments, surgery and hospital stay, along with follow up preventive treatments.

On a final, equally urgent note, we are concerned that Kevin's life will be in danger if he enters a hospital for surgery. Several members of our movement have died while in hospital because of documented foul play.

Knowing this risk, we ask that you help us create a circle of protection around Kevin during and after his surgery, through your physical or prayerful presence with him, and by alerting the world when he is undergoing surgery. We will hold a 24 hour vigil at the hospital during that time, and will have legal observers in or near the operating room.

Do not let Kevin's many powerful adversaries cause his death, for then all of us will suffer! His life is in God's hands, but also it is in ours.
