Q. How has Intuitive community changed your outcomes in caregiving?

I am a severely disabled survivor of severe trauma.

Most public support resources exclude me — they don't know what to do with me.

Countless services and organizations have had no answer for me when I ask them what to do — for myself, my family, and for many others.

Survivors like me and families like mine need effective communications support and practical resource assistance in order to solve problems, stabilize, and recover health after trauma.

Because of the many, diverse, and unique challenges that emerge from compounded trauma, situational solutions are crucial to success for suffering families and communities.

Without the resources Intuitive has shared, my family and I could not communicate or survive together. This meant brutal additional pain, confusion, fear, stress, and illness for all of us until recently, especially because I am not the only severely disabled person in my immediate family.

After many years of threat to life and health, and of my mother struggling as caregiver for both my and my father's very different, complex health challenges, we have new and better strategies for supporting one another effectively.

These strategies are working for us now even in the most chaotic (scary, messy, challenging) circumstances.

Intuitive provides coordination support that allows me to help care for my parents, helps others support my needs, and helps us rebuild healthy environments for our families and communities.

Our connection to Intuitive prevents further trauma, caregiver burnout, and premature death.

Intuitive helps us to address painful, scary, or complicated subjects more easily, aids us in problemsolving, and helps us to more successfully meet our needs.

We're healthier every day because of this, and deeply grateful.

Survivors, service users, and professionals (and the many of us that are all of these) are invited to meet on Fridays for conversations related to mutual aid and building networks of supports that center the most intersectionalized survivors (including those who are not currently safe enough to join these meetings). 

Intuitive is working with particular diligence to add more degreed professionals to the network to support with advocacy, navigating epistemic oppression, and network expansion.

The initial focus of these conversations centers on deep listening and orientating to the wisdom and needs of Survivors of Severity. We are learning to listen and talk to each other as fellow humans, and exploring what can emerge as trust is built.

In these meetings we aim to learn to see differently and communicate differently, centering the insights and wisdom of Survivors of Severity.

We are particularly seeking people who can pause and reflect on complexity and engage in deep listening and creative problem-solving for complex situations.

We notice our breath and continue breathing. We don’t know how to describe to you what’s been happening because our bodies need a break from it, from the incessant repeating of it through either experiencing it or having to try again (and again) to verbalize it.
It is deceptively simple approaches that gain us surprising and wondrous solutions. This happens all the time; it happens more and more, the more we choose to listen to, respect, and care for one another.
Many voices want to say their piece, their peace. Many minds want to share their unique perceptions and show how beneficially they are connected to every other being’s hopes and dreams.
Some of these are the worst of nightmares. Do we push them off, yearning for a half-real world that only comforts and secures us, never challenges us or asks us to learn? A world in a strange kind of stasis?
And the most magical and nourishing of the real-life dream manifestations we may reach are only accessed through willingness to honorably explore the most challenging of the challenges. What will we do with this part of it?
As we find ourselves increasingly conscious --- and conscientious --- we return repeatedly to process this.
Whether or not we successfully verbalize it, our bodies are living it.

I sort of remember coming into this pattern of publishing at any moment it felt most right, the rhythm of it being healing and stabilizing. It seemed to put me in immediate contact with my own self and with some collection of others resonating on the frequency. So it would be 5:00 a.m., 5:15 a.m. I believe actually, and my body would be ricocheting through strange subtle responses to the poisons being introduced to it, most of them misled, lied, or gaslighted about. It would be 5:15 a.m. and I would be wide awake, wondering why. Too much unaware of how my natural cycles were being squeezed, molded, pushed at, pinched. And very faintly realizing how perfect and right it was to imagine myself leaping up, donning shoes, going out running through the dark and pre-dawn morning mist. I figured it out later. Many times, I tried and balked at somatic obstacles, no idea about all the poisons. I mean, inklings. Little ideas here and there, but nothing that stabilized. Like building on sand. And then a lot later on, as the poisons built up and my function repeatedly failed... well, what would there be to do about it anyway? We have all continued to choose this hell. The men with the money say the poisons are good for us, no harm at all. With all that money, they probably know what they're talking about.
