Where do old legionnaires go to die?

I joined the military in my second decade of life at 17. I served my country much like a Roman legionnaire did. I served for the glory of the republic, or like the jingoism of the time: “to defend my country”. I served in my 2nd and 3rd and 4th decades of my life. I was posted far from my homeland. I served in Europe, Asia, the Middle East and places most Americans can’t find on a map. I’m a second generation warrior. My father served for 30 plus years as well. Now I just want to be left alone to live a life well lived. They won’t let us. Why? We have massive immigration that is colloquially disguised and is actually an invasion or a colonization attempt. Our institutions are corrupt and our government mocks the protectors as extremists. Is the republic worthy of defending? We can’t survive this. It’s all been done before. When Rome collapsed, her legions were spread far and wide. Hadrian’s Wall defenses and garrisons literally collapsed overnight. We are precisely at Hexham in 740 AD.

Now I’m in my 5th decade and I can see they won’t let my cohort rest. I’m not alone. They are making a mistake. My knowledge will not be lost.

As an American woman who doesn't have your skill set; I have been blessed to live on 3 different continents, visit 165 countries, and my parents took my brother and I to visit Hadrian's wall.

I say this not to brag but that I recognize I grew up with a very blessed life expressly because of men & women such as yourself who served this country.

The Republic IS worth defending and as someone who enjoyed 32 years, I'm willing to follow whomever leads a cause that ensures future generations have a chance to enjoy my similar blessings. I can't tell you when or how; but I know for certain that I can't be the only one who feels that way so I hope that for your own community/family that you are organizing and training 🙏

(And yes, I recognize that you should have these years to enjoy at your leisure but God gave you decades of military experience for a reason & while you thought it was probably for career & country, God knew another plan. God speed💯)
