The Work Beneath the Words
He came not for titles, but for transformation. Not for applause, but for awakening.
We draped him in degrees, recited ancient lines, and called it light. But did we kindle anything real?
He sought challenge. We gave ceremony. He longed for brotherhood. We offered attendance. He asked for guidance. We nodded, and moved on.
Freemasonry holds the tools— compass, square, and sacred word. But tools untouched gather dust. And symbols without labor lose their light.
Improvement is not inherited. It is forged— in the fire of effort, the chisel of mentorship, the silence between hard questions, and the weight of honest answers.
We say we make good men better. Then let us prove it.
Not with borrowed phrases, but with living practice. Not in the echo of ritual, but in the rhythm of responsibility. Not in the lodge alone, but in the life beyond its doors.
Let our brotherhood be more than memory. Let it be motion. Let it be meaning. Let it be the work.
