На этот раз речь пойдет о легендарном Транссибе, начало которому было положено в 1891 г. во Владивостоке внуком Императрицы Марии Александровны, Цесаревичем Николаем Александровичем, по поручению сына Императрицы - тогда уже Императора Александра III.

Выдающийся исследователь Дальнего Востока адмирал Невельской (1813-1876) будет служить при двух Императорах - Николае I и его сыне, Александре II. А памятник на месте его подвигов заложит внук Александра II и Императрицы Марии Александровны - Цесаревич Николай.
Монумент Геннадию Невельскому станет первым памятником Владивостока.

17 мая 1891 г. Цесаревич своими руками вложит серебряную пластину в основание памятника и законсервирует ее цементным раствором для потомков.

An outstanding explorer of the Far East, Admiral Nevelskoy (1813-1876) would serve under two Emperors - Nicholas I and his son, Alexander II. The monument at the site of his exploits will be laid by the grandson of Alexander II and Empress Maria Alexandrovna - Tsarevich Nicholas.
The monument to Gennady Nevelsky will be the first monument in Vladivostok.

On May 17, 1891, the Tsarevich with his own hands placed a silver plate into the base of the monument and preserved it with cement mortar for posterity.

🗣️Друзья! Через столицу Царства Польского лежал путь в Петербург юной гессенской принцессы Марии в 1840 г. Именно в Варшаве, где она побывает в сопровождении будущей свекрови, Императрицы Александры Фёдоровны, и Великой княгини Ольги Николаевны спустя 29 лет будет воздвигнут Собор Марии Магдалины – в честь небесной покровительницы уже Императрицы Марии Александровны.
Варшавские газеты писали:

«В воскресенье, 11 июля 1869 г., в праздник Св. Апостолов Петра и Павла, освящен храм ... В 9 часов под звон колоколов соборного храма городское духовенство … шло крестным ходом из соборного храма для передачи образа св. Марии Магдалины, милостиво дарованного Светлейшей Императрицей Марией Александровной…»

At 9 o’clock, to the ringing of the bells of the cathedral church, the city clergy... walked in procession from the cathedral church to transfer the image of St. Mary Magdalene, graciously bestowed by the Most Serene Empress Maria Alexandrovna..."

🗣️Друзья! Баварские газеты будут следить за визитом будущей Императрицы Марии Александровны в Баварию:

«…29 мая [1840 г. ] Ее Высочество Принцесса прибыла [в Аугсбург] без четверти 7 ч. в сопровождении баронессы де Гранси, графини фон Зандицель, майора барона фон Трота …и продолжила путь во дворец Бидерштайн под Мюнхеном».

Причина поездки Принцессы Гессенской Марии сразу же после помолвки в мае 1840 г. в Баварию очень человечная. Юная Мария спешила встретиться с единственной еще живой теткой – родной сестрой ее матери. Чутье будущую Императрицу Марию Александровну не подвело – уже в ноябре 1841 года вдовствующей Баварской Королевы - Каролины Баденской не станет.

Bavarian newspapers will follow the visit of the future Empress Maria Alexandrovna to Bavaria:

“...On May 29 [1840], Her Highness the Princess arrived [in Augsburg] at a quarter to 7 o'clock, accompanied by Baroness de Grancy, Countess von Sandizel, Major Baron von Throth...and continued on her way to the palace Biederstein near Munich.”

The reason for Princess Marie of Hesse's trip to Bavaria immediately after her engagement in May 1840 is very humane. Young Marie was in a hurry to meet with her only living aunt - her mother’s sister. The instinct of the future Empress Maria Alexandrovna did not let her down - already in November 1841, the Dowager Queen of Bavaria, Caroline of Baden, would pass away.

🗣️Друзья! Между Императрицей Марией Александровной и ее младшими сыновьями Сергеем и Павлом сложится особый «дружеский треугольник». Вот что пишет Пиц (Великий князь Павел Александрович) матери 16 ноября 1879 г.:

Сергей мне в последнем письме писал, что Ты поручила ему мне сказать, чтобы я не декуражировался тем, что Ты мне не писала, но я и не помышлял об этом, получив уже одно письмо от Тебя и узнал как трудно Тебе должно быть писать…

This is what Pitz (Grand Duke Pavel Alexandrovich) wrote to his mother on November 16, 1879:

🗣️Друзья! Примечательно, что в Гессенском семейном архиве – фонде матери будущей Императрицы Марии Александровны, Великой герцогини Вильгельмины, сохранились подборки «Гессенской газеты» за период её тяжелой болезни (январь/февраль 1836 г.).

Удивительно, но даже в первые дни траура редакторы посчитают важным разместить новости из Петербурга… И «хайлайт» заметки – научная тематика: в далеком Дармштадте читатели узнавали о 109-й годовщине Императорской академии наук, о теме докладов, а также обо всех новоизбранных академиках и членах-корреспондентах Академии.

Кстати, один из докладов в Петербурге будет о Комете Галлея - той, самой, что будут наблюдать и даже зарисуют юные Александр и Мария Гессенские. Наука воистину объединяет!

Surprisingly, even in the first days of mourning, editors will consider it important to post news from St. Petersburg. And the “highlights” were scientific topics: in Darmstadt readers learned about the 109th anniversary of the Imperial Academy of Sciences, the topics of the reports, as well as about all the newly elected academicians and corresponding members of the Academy.

By the way, one of the reports in St. Petersburg will be about Halley’s Comet - the one that young Alexander and Marie of Hesse will observe and even sketch. Science unites. Truly!

Слова Императрицы окажут действие и Людвиг отправится в 1866 г. в путешествие по Королевству. Этот "смелый" шаг Баварского племянника заслужит письменную похвалу любимой тетушки из Петербурга:

Как я рада твоему нынешнему путешествию, как и каждой возможности, которая приводит тебя к личному соприкосновению с твоим народом, убеждена, что это может принести лишь только взаимную выгоду, они узнают тебя, а ты черпаешь из проявления преданности твоих подданных новые силы и мужество для выполнения твоих тяжких обязанностей.
