Red Sea


โ–ช๏ธ It (also the Erythraean Sea) is a seawater inlet of the Indian Ocean, lying between Africa and Asia.

โ–ช๏ธ The connection to the ocean is in the south through the Bab el Mandeb strait and the Gulf of Aden.

โ–ช๏ธ To the north lie the Sinai Peninsula, the Gulf of Aqaba, and the Gulf of Suez (leading to the Suez Canal).

โ–ช๏ธ Bordering countries are:
Eastern shore: Saudi Arabia, Yemen, Israel and Jordan (border Gulf of Aqaba)
Western shore: Egypt, Sudan, Eritrea
Djibouti.

โ€Sibsagar (Sivasagar) Lakeโ€

โ–กSibsagar Lake is an artificial lake which was built by Queen Ambika, wife of King Shiva Singha, in the year 1734

โ–ก It is located in Sivasagar town in Assam, India

โ–ก The lake was commissioned by the Ahom king Siva Singha.

โ–ก The lake is surrounded by the Dehing rainforest, where the Dihing (Brahmaputra) and Lohit rivers meet.

Dodital Lake

โ–ช๏ธ Dodital is a freshwater lake in uttarkashi district, Uttarakhand, India, situated at a height of 9,921 ft.

โ–ช๏ธ Assi ganga river rises from dodital and joins bhagirathi. The confluence is at Gangotri

โ–ช๏ธ According to one of the popular legends Lord Ganesha chose this place as his abode.

โ–ช๏ธ There is a temple devoted to Lord Ganesha here. Another name for this lake is 'Dhundital' meaning Ganesh ka tal or lake of Ganesha.

Sardar Sarovar Dam

โ–ช๏ธIt was built across the Narmada river in Kevadiya of Gujarat

โ–ช๏ธType of the dam is gravity dam

โ–ช๏ธThe construction of the dam began in 1987 and was opened in 2017

โ–ช๏ธIt is the second largest concrete dam in the world after America's Coulee dam and third highest concrete dam in India

Sambhar Lake

โ–ช๏ธ The Sambhar Salt Lake, India's largest inland salt lake, is located in the city of Jaipur ,Rajasthan.

โ–ช๏ธ Sambhar Salt Lake is India's largest saline lake and is the source of most of Rajasthan's salt production. 

โ–ช๏ธ Designated as Ramsar wetland site in 1990

โ–ช๏ธwetland is a key wintering area for tens of thousands of pink flamingos and other birds that migrate from northern Asia and Siberia.

โ–ช๏ธ In November 2019, nearly 20,000 of migratory birds were found dead mysteriously in the lake area.
