โSea of Marmara
๐ต Sea of Marmara is an inland sea partly separating the Asiatic and European parts of Turkey.
๐ต It is connected through the Bosporus on the northeast with the Black Sea and through
the Dardanelles on the southwest with the Aegean Sea.
๐ตIt has no strong currents.
Salinity, which averages 22 parts per thousand, is greatest at the end nearest the Dardanelles.
๐ตThe sea was formed as a result of crustal movements that occurred about 2.5 million years ago.
๐ตIt is an area of frequent earthquakes. The sea has two distinct island groups. The first is the Kฤฑzฤฑl Islands in the northeast near Istanbul;

Russia has deployed an underwater telescope called the Baikal-GVD (Gigaton Volume Detector) in the Lake Baikal, the worldโs deepest lake
GVD is one of the three largest neutrino detectors in the world, other 2 being IceCube at the South Pole and ANTARES in the Mediterranean Sea.
GVD is designed to detect neutrinos that may have come from the Earthโs core, or could have been produced during nuclear reactions in the Sun, or formed as a result of supernova explosions.
It will aid in understanding of the origin of the universe since some neutrinos were formed during the Big Bang
Neutrinos:๐
They are not easy to catch, this is because they do not carry a charge, as a result of which they do not interact with matter.
Natural sources of neutrinos include the primordial elements within the earth, radioactivity in the sun
One way of detecting neutrinos is in water or ice, where neutrinos leave a flash of light or a line of bubbles when they interact.
