Pakistan’s Ministry of Information and Broadcasting said drones launched from Afghan territory entered Pakistani airspace on 23 September. Islamabad said its air-defence systems detected and neutralised the intruding platforms before they reached their intended targets.

Pakistan said it subsequently carried out precision air and drone strikes on 10 locations in Afghanistan, which it identified as sites used to launch or store the drones. Islamabad said the strikes targeted military objectives linked to the attempted attacks.

Mustaghfir Gurbaz, spokesperson for the Khost governor, said Pakistani airstrikes hit the Gulan camp in Gurbuz district, areas near Khost city, and parts of Ismail Khel and Mandozai at around 3:30 a.m.

He later said unexploded ordnance from the strikes in the Gulan camp area had been safely destroyed by local security forces.

Additional local reports claimed further air/drone strikes in Gurbuz, central Khost, Ismail Khel, Mandozai and Sarabagh.

Local reports from Kandahar city’s ninth district said one person was pulled from rubble and taken to hospital following an explosion at the residence of former Taliban leader Mullah Mohammad Omar.

Eyewitnesses reportedly saw one person rescued, but their condition remains unclear. Local reports said three explosions occurred in Kandahar earlier in the morning.

Taliban spokesperson Zabihullah Mujahid disputed reports of casualties, saying the incident occurred in the Shahr area and that no one was harmed.

Kurram Sector: Border Clashes

Intense clashes have reportedly erupted along the Pakistan-Afghanistan imaginary border in the Kurram sector.

Local sources report the use of heavy weapons, while accounts from both sides differ over the circumstances behind the fighting.

- Afghanistan’s Ministry of Defense said that a Pakistani military post near Spin Boldak, Kandahar, was targeted and destroyed after it opened fire toward the Afghan side.

- The ministry claimed that no soldier of the Afghan forces were killed or injured and no material damage was sustained during the clash.

- It also rejected reports from the Pakistani side regarding the incident as “propaganda” and said they did not reflect the facts.
