Be patient with your self, this is your first time being human. Be patient with others, you don't know what they might be going through. Most importantly, be patient to your loved ones, you won't get this time with them again, you should charish it!
A lot of people assume being patient means being passive or weak. It means not being reactive, doing things calmly and with grace. How ever patient you think you are, you can always afford to give a little more grace to your self and others.

Everything is Broken — Yohanes Fikru

In school, we learnt the "correct" way of dong things, how we should implement our specs using architectures and patterns. But in game dev, the "spec" is an emotion: Is it fun? Does it feel right? To answer that, you have to build for the user's desire first, often at the expense of the code's purity.
In this talk we'll take a look at his journey, learning extremely useful insights and lessons about game dev as well as what creating a game studio thought him about the truth of game dev and user satisfaction as a whole.

As Uncle Iroh once said, in S2E9, “It is important to draw wisdom from many different places. If you take it from only one place, it becomes rigid and stale. Understanding others, the other elements, and the other nations will help you become whole”.
There are some things you’ll need to approach with more caution. But for most things in this day and age, the rate of information we get bombarded with to shape our opinions will necessitate you to either do the research or believe the first thing you hear. In my opinion, the first option is exceedingly better.

Bespoke UI — Robel Mezemir

It takes a few simple things to get UI to be tolerable, yet 80% of people fail to do that. So we should talk about the effort needed to get your app to the 80th percentile and what to do to make it an "experience" instead of an app.
In this talk, he'll show us examples of bad design, bare minimum design and great design. He'll also show us what his workflow is to build half-decent UI.

I heard this in a TikTok and it might be AI generated, but it hit me like a truck. It said, "A boy becomes a man when he realizes there is no one coming to save him!"
Obviously, this applies to everyone, boy or girl.
The most powerful and effective moments in my life have been the moments when I turned myself from being a victim of my circumstances to the one in charge of them. That starts by taking control of the stuff you can, and slowly increasing your sphere of influence. Only then can you become the master of your fate.

Qwen 3.5 is pretty impressive for Amharic. Probably the best open model out there with good coverage.
Token stuff is wild tho. Wrote it up here: https://telegra.ph/Qwen-35-supports-Amharic-but-is-it-actually-good-at-it-03-03

Qwen 3.5 “supports” Amharic… but is it actually good at it?
We took the new Qwen 3.5 models (0.8B to 9B), fed them real Ethiopian sentences, and measured exactly what happens using official files and 10,000 genuine Amharic lines. Why we even bothered to check this Amharic is spoken by over 60 million people and is…
I used to think that doing something that makes me happy or centering my life around what gives me comfort and happiness was the goal. Ironically, the moments I felt the happiest happened because I pursued a meaningful goal or a favor for someone I value.
You’ll always find the best moments on the way to a meaningful goal with meaningful people.

There will always be an infinite number of things that will compete for your attention, infinite things that will want you to engage with them using your energy, time, and emotion.
Picking your battles is not just choosing which fight to take, which ones not to take as well. Don’t let yourself be swayed by something that changes every few seconds. Being always reactive will lead to the world choosing your battles for you.
It also means that when you pick something to pursue, give it your all. Believe in yourself and pursue it to the very end or as much as you’ve set a goal for yourself.

I'm trying to wrap my head around SpacetimeDB and it's kind of blowing my mind.
Check out this video where 2 people are having a video call where every frame is a transaction on a database. I don't even know what to say to that

We did a video call over a... DATABASE???
To be clear, all data is being transmitted and synchronized to clients through SpacetimeDB. Chippy posted the code too, so you can try it out yourself!
