XRP was "given" to Ripple. The technology was established in the 1980s.
Influential people (whose names I won't mention; you can research them yourselves) came up with the name XRP and defined its purpose.

It's based on Jesus Christ. XRP is "the chosen one" to "resurrect" the new financial system. All of this was planned decades ago.

"XP" represents the first two Greek letters of "Christos" and is a symbol of Jesus Christ.

The "R" (this is my assumption) in XRP stands for "Resurrect."
