Your deeds and actions, & your spiritual obedience to GoD is weighed for your FATE to live for another year, or die (by several ways according to how GoD determines).

GoD holds life and death of every human being.

However, a person has the window of time from Rosh HaShanah to Yom Kippur to pray to GoD and appeal that any negative FATE be changed.
On "Yom Kippur", the final decision of a person's FATE coming from GoD, is SEALED.

GoD has always "set times" in Jewish TIME and significance: dates, Jewish Gematria, Hebrew letters.

Significant people & events were born on Rosh HaShanah, including the creation of the World.

Rosh HaShanah and Yom Kippur are Jewish dates. Always has been. Will be. Dont try to confiscate or whitewash them.
