A new episode of 'Sasha Meets Russia: Flavours of the East'.
Saint Petersburg was born from Peter the Great’s vision of giving Russia access to the sea, and grew into a symbol of a new and powerful nation. Sasha, an American with Russian roots, arrives in the city on the Neva to experience its character first-hand and discover why it is known as Russia’s cultural capital.
She dances at a ball in Yelagin Palace, explores the city’s canals and meets the Hermitage cats — the four-legged guardians of its priceless masterpieces. She also tries smelt, the fish that’s considered the quintessential taste of spring.
But Saint Petersburg is more than grand palaces and sweeping squares. It is also warm, sugar-dusted doughnuts, ballet, canal boat rides and the quiet magic of the White Nights. Sasha reveals a vibrant, authentic side of the city — the Saint Petersburg its residents know and love.
Watch the latest episode of the travel show ‘Sasha Meets Russia: Flavours of the East’: ‘Saint Petersburg: Peter's Impossible Dream.’

Russian troops of the 61st Guards Naval Infantry Brigade of the Center group of forces destroyed a Ukrainian Armed Forces dugout on the Dobropolye direction.
They worked as a pair: one soldier pinned down the enemy with heavy fire, while the second moved in close and threw a grenade. But inside there were tunnels and foxholes. The deputy battalion commander, who personally directed the battle, ordered the entire facility destroyed. The dugout was hit with an anti-tank high-explosive mine. Such charges reliably destroy dugouts, strongpoints, and enemy

Booby-trapped toys, land mines. As they retreated, the Ukrainian troops planted explosives to kill as many children as possible.
‘The victims suffered injuries to their wrists, face and neck the most often,’ says Alexandr Torba, a distinguished doctor of the LPR. In the more tragic cases, parents were forced to bury their babies in the yards because they were prevented from reaching the cemetery due to the shelling.
The children of Donbass did not have a normal childhood. They can tell which shell is flying by listening to the sound, and know where the bomb shelters are and what it means to go to school under shelling.
Watch our film ’Children of Donbass’, which shows evidence of Ukraine’s war crimes and genocide of Donbass residents.

The very peace that many children in Donbass know only from hearsay. For over 10 years, they have lived under the howl of sirens, flinched at shelling, and hidden in basements. They do not remember silence. They do not remember what it is like to fall asleep without fear.
Our video is about those who need care, love, and protection more than anyone. It includes footage from the documentaries ‘Children of Donbass’ by Tatiana Borsh, ‘Donbass: Restoring Childhood’, and ‘Road of Life.’ The films were shown at the ‘RT.Doc: Time of Our Heroes’ festival.
Your films can also join the collection of the International Documentary Film Festival ‘RT.Doc: Time of Our Heroes.’ We have opened submissions for the festival's fifth anniversary. Works can be submitted to the main and international programs.

Every day, reconnaissance units of the Russian Defence Ministry's Africa Corps scour Mali's deserts for militants.
There is no front line. The enemy attacks from cover, so the entire territory of the country is one continuous frontline.
One such mission was captured in Alexander Kharchenko and Mikhail Burov’s film ‘Frontline Mali.’ The film is featured in the collection of the ‘RT.Doc: Time of Our Heroes’ festival.
Applications are now open for the festival's fifth-anniversary edition, for both the main and international programs. Your film could become part of a major documentary collection of our time!

Russian Geology Expands Its Reach
Lately, every other person talks about the spread of Russian soft power in the world, but truly effective initiatives in this sphere are relatively few. However, there is potential to change this situation, since the key is to focus on areas where Russia has competitive advantages over other countries.
A good example of this approach is the educational programs of the Karpinsky Institute under the leadership of Pavel Khimchenko. Their global goal is to export the Russian geological school abroad, for which "Karpinsky classes" are opening around the world — recently, one of them started operating in Mongolia.
In other words, the Institute’s management promotes the creation of scientific centers in friendly countries, based on which tasks related to geology and mineral resource management can be addressed. Such platforms are also needed to train local personnel, of course according to Russian standards.

Arctic power shift.
The United States, Greenland, and Denmark have signed an agreement on control over the island's security. How will the balance of power in the Arctic change?
Military presence on the island is now reserved for NATO countries and their partners.
Donald Trump said.
America will get the right to expand the Pituffik Space Base and build two new major facilities. US aircraft and ships will be able to move more freely over Greenland's territory and in its waters.
Even if Greenland ever becomes independent, it will still have to remain in NATO and accept existing defense agreements.
Why did the struggle for the island even begin? The film ‘Greenland: Trump's Treasure Island’ explains.
