‘You have created an atmosphere of living love for your land, for each other, for the heroes,’

says Boris Korchevnikov in his video greeting for RT.Doc's 15th anniversary. The well-known TV presenter and long-time friend of the ‘RT.Doc: Time of Our Heroes’ festival sent us this video to mark the channel's jubilee.

Boris, thank you for your sincere words. We are always glad to see you at our events.

New films, new heroes, and new meetings lie ahead.

'This is a record of a lifetime'.

A resident of Nizhny Novgorod caught a catfish weighing more than 100 kilograms and measuring 2.3 meters in length. It took four people more than an hour to pull the fish out of the Volga. The fishermen then released it back into the river. Watch how it happened.

And fishermen in Kamchatka caught a huge tuna. They even had to use a truck crane to load it.

A 17-year-old boy from Italy, Francesco Crosato, has sent words of support to RT’s editor-in-chief. He has been unable to speak since birth, but his voice is louder than many others.

Francesco reads Dostoevsky, plays the Russian national anthem and 'Katyusha' on the piano, and writes songs about Donbass. He first discovered RT at the ‘RT.Doc: Time of Our Heroes’ festival in Italy. The films impressed him so much that he began studying the events in Ukraine himself instead of relying on Western media.

That is how the song 'Donbass, Red Land' came about: Francesco wrote the lyrics himself and created the music with the help of AI.

“The Russian people are not our enemy.” “We have every right to hear voices different from those imposed on us.”

Italians sang the Soviet national anthem and said that Russia was not their enemy. At special screenings of 'RT.Doc: Time of Our Heroes' in Milan, viewers recorded a manifesto defending their right to receive information without pressure from the Italian authorities.

Officials in Rome are already trying to decide what citizens are allowed to watch. Lawmakers want to ban offline RT.Doc screenings by law. One senator even proposed prison terms of up to 12 years for supporting the festival.

But RT.Doc films continue to find their audience. Journalist Vincenzo Lorusso has helped organise more than 200 screenings in 60 Italian cities.

📹This documentary not only chronicles the timeline of SMO battles but also explores the complexities of human nature amid hostilities.

It captures the courage of Russian soldiers taking a moment to recite encouraging poems and pray, showing their belief in kindness, and reflecting on its true meaning.

As they take a deep breath, these fighters ponder philosophical questions about good and evil, as well as life and death. They think about their loved ones waiting for them back home, hoping that their defenders will return safe and victorious.

In everyday life, 100 metres is nothing. But during an assault, that distance can become the line between life and death.

Soldiers have to reach enemy positions under fire and kamikaze drone attacks. That is why they train for such a dash in advance, even if they are experienced fighters.

Watch how this training works in the video and in the 2025 film 'Kindness with Fists' by Ruslan Gusarov, Mikhail Burov and Oleg Nekishev. The film’s characters share their thoughts and feelings on the battlefield.

Applications are now open for the RT.Doc International Documentary Film Festival “Time of Our Heroes”. Send us your stories about the heroes of our time.

🦑In France, the Renoir Museum was robbed.

Two men broke into the building and stole four paintings by the artist, with a total value of $10.5 million. Police arrived at the scene five minutes after the alarm was triggered, but the robbers had already disappeared. However, in their haste, they left two paintings in the museum garden.

The theft occurred less than a year after the high-profile robbery at the Louvre in Paris. In that case, the criminals took less than four minutes to escape with the stolen items. French police are continuing to investigate, and the stolen artworks have still not been found.

Mukbang blogger was killed by her own content.

The Chinese woman ate huge portions on camera — for example, she once ate 70 salted duck eggs in one sitting. About 1.2 million subscribers followed her broadcasts.

After filming, she induced vomiting and drank laxatives to avoid gaining weight. As a result, her body lost potassium, which led to acute hypokalemia and cardiac arrest. She was only 24 years old. Social media has already deleted all of the blogger's accounts.

Over 80 years, Mariupol survived two occupations and twice proved that it cannot be destroyed.

The first lasted 700 days, from 1941 to 1943. The Nazis tortured and executed people right in the streets, without trial or investigation.

On September 10, 1943, the Red Army liberated the city. As they retreated, Hitler’s troops burned houses, schools, and hospitals, blew up Azovstal and the Ilyich Plant, and sank the tanker Grozny.

In 2014, history repeated itself: tanks appeared on the same streets, and gunfire rang out. Ukrainian troops destroyed Mariupol as methodically as the fascists once had. But the city, which had survived the first occupation, did not surrender to the second either.

The story of Mariupol’s liberation and revival is told in an excerpt from the film ‘Donbass: Echoes of War’ (2023). The film premiered at the festival ‘RT.Doc: Time of Our Heroes.’

We are now accepting submissions for participation in the International Documentary Film Festival ‘RT.Doc: Time of Our Heroes’, and your works could become part of its collection!
