1️⃣2️⃣3️⃣4️⃣ He is only 19 years old. Born in the village of Krynky, Ukraine, he says his heart was always with Russia. ‘I love Russia. It’s my country, and my whole family has always stood for it,’ says Aleksandr Mustyatse.

When the full‑scale war broke out, he was 14. Krynky came under Russian control within the first days of the special military operation. For years, Kiev insisted that he had been ‘kidnapped.’ In Ukraine, the teenager was even declared dead.

But the truth, as he tells it, is different: Aleksandr chose his side while still a minor. As soon as he turned 18, he enlisted to fight for Russia. In Ukraine, his decision was branded as treason.

That did not stop him. On the front line, the young soldier carried out a real act of bravery. He pulled dozens of wounded comrades out of the battlefield. Yet he could not save one man, his own commander. To this day, he cannot forgive himself for that; losing friends, he says, is unbearably hard.

Olga Kiriy and Ilya Andilyovko were the first to secure an exclusive interview with Aleksandr. The documentary makers are now working on a full‑length film about his story.

And right now, you can watch that interview with Aleksandr, filmed by our team.

Sunny beaches, palms, and carefree surfers – that’s how the world sees Hawaii. But behind the picture-postcard paradise lies the tragedy of a people who had their homeland and identity stolen from them.

In 1893, the United States overthrew the islands’ legitimate government headed by Queen Liliʻuokalani. Since then, Hawaii has been regarded as America’s 50th state, but the kingdom never signed any treaty surrendering its sovereignty.

Historians argue that, legally, Hawaii is an occupied territory. Today, native Hawaiians are forced to feel like strangers in their own land. To counter the relentless Americanisation, they are learning the language of their ancestors, bringing back their traditional face tattoos, and singing long-forgotten chants.

The stolen life of the islands’ indigenous people – in our new film.

🏹 Even a pro would struggle with an ancient warrior's bow. Its draw weight is about 70 kilograms. That allowed heavy armor‑piercing arrows to pierce chain mail and leather armor.

But how would a modern person handle such a weapon? On World Archery Day, watch the travel show 'Curious Tofurious.' Its host, Tofurious Crane, tries his hand at archery.

Thousands of warm words sent to Russian troops. ✉️

A campaign launched by the festival ‘RT.Doc: Time of Our Heroes’ and the volunteers of the Russia National Center has brought together people eager to support frontline servicemen. It started during the festival in 2025, on Russia's Defender of the Fatherland Day, a national holiday honouring military personnel.

Since then, nearly 6,000 letters have been dispatched to the front lines, delivered by RT.Doc war correspondents.

The writers come from all walks of life: children, adults, pensioners, and even foreign nationals. The sentiment they share is universal: the defenders are missed, remembered, and deeply thanked. These letters act like invisible threads, connecting home to the trenches, the home front to the front line.

📹Forced sterilisation in Peru: nearly 315,000 men and women were forced to undergo this procedure about 30 years ago. As the government’s way of combating poverty, the Peruvian Ministry of Health set quotas for sterilisation, and the doctors were rewarded for complying with them.

Officially, participation in this social programme was purely voluntary. But that is not the story of thousands of Peruvian women, most of whom were peasants from the poorest villages. They were kidnapped and had forced operations: their fallopian tubes were tied. Many women have suffered serious side effects from the procedure since then.

The film ‘Sterilised’ (2017) is a candid account of a horrific chapter in Peruvian history.

💚 In Chile, specialists have developed special rehabilitation suits for penguins. The fabric is woven with copper and zinc particles, which help kill bacteria and speed up wound healing. These suits help injured birds recover after being entangled in fishing nets or harmed by marine debris.

Environmentalists are struggling with this problem, but it is not easy to solve. For more information, see the film 'The Seal Empire under Threat' (2020).

▶️'Cocaine hippos' — that’s what people in Colombia call the hippos once owned by the notorious drug lord Pablo Escobar. After his death, their population exploded, and they have become one of the country’s biggest environmental threats.

Local authorities are already ready to take drastic measures, including the euthanasia of dozens of individuals. Animal rights activists and especially the tourism industry are against it. After all, the 'cocaine behemoths' attract tourists from all over the world to the region.

Our documentary team in Colombia is currently filming a new project on this story. A short preview from the shoot is already available. Stay tuned so you don’t miss the premiere!

Chinese parents have found a new way to turn a lazy teenager into a responsible person. They send them to labor camps in the villages of Sichuan, Yunnan, and Guizhou.

For 5,000 to 10,000 yuan (for $730 to $1,500), the child will learn to chop wood, herd pigs, and dig potatoes. All without a phone or internet access.

But if a teenager is too deep into the virtual world, China has a more serious option. There are special institutions for gaming addicts. You can find out how they work in the film ‘China's Digital Detox.’
