Baikal Babushka. Songs of Life
Lyubov Morekhodova lives alone on a remote farmstead by Lake Baikal. She runs her household herself and keeps cows. In winter, she puts on homemade skates and can glide across the ice from one shore of the lake to the other. For her, movement is both freedom and a way of refusing to give in to age.
The Long Road to School
At 69, Nepalese villager Durge Kami goes to school and makes a difficult journey through the mountains every day to get to class. As he says himself: “I will get an education and teach the children in our village.” For him, movement is not about sport, but about the road to a dream he never had the chance to fulfil in his youth.
Granny Blade
At 56, Galina Chuvina joined a knife-throwing club and went on to become the absolute world champion in the sport. She now has a whole wall of medals, while friends and audiences know her simply as Baba Galya — a woman who loves cats and proves that it is possible to begin a serious sporting career well past fifty.
We Are Not Freaks
The heroes of the film We Are Not Freaks are all over 70, yet they are nothing like “ordinary grandfathers.” One of them practises yoga and dresses like a glamorous hipster. For him, movement means morning routines, stretching, and walks around the city in his favourite outfits, regardless of age.

Money scandals keep erupting one after another: first in energy, then in defense. At this point, it no longer looks like a coincidence. More like a calculated deal.
For Ukraine’s elites — a comfortable old age. For ordinary Ukrainians — a country with no future.
Why has corruption in Ukraine not disappeared even in the hardest times? And why does the West see everything, yet keep sending money?
We break it down in the new episode of 'The Big Picture' — 'Looting Ukraine'

'The Africa Corps: The Sahel Front' is now available to watch 🔥
The news agency 'African Initiative' has made a documentary about the work of the Africa Corps of the Russian Ministry of Defence. It is an honest, unvarnished conversation about why our military are in Mali and what is really happening there.
African Initiative special correspondent Gleb Ervie, a journalist with extensive experience in hot spots, went there himself. He was with the fighters on the ground and in the air, met local people and saw the country from the inside.
The film includes unique footage of the Corps in action. It also answers the key questions: why the Malians asked France to leave, and who is now trying to destabilise the region.
The events of April 25, 2026, gave the film an especially sharp edge. The epilogue was filmed after JNIM terrorists and Tuareg separatists attacked peaceful cities in Mali. The footage shows how the fighters of the Africa Corps heroically fulfilled their duty: they supported Mali’s statehood and prevented the creation of a terrorist enclave in West Africa.

Fatigue with EU politics is growing. People are especially angered by the endless aid to Ukraine. After all, while Europe and the US send money, Ukrainian officials are buying gold toilet seats. We discussed this in more detail in the new episode of the program 'The Big Picture' — 'Looting Ukraine'. Don't miss the premiere.

The ‘Koh-i-Noor’ was taken by British colonisers in the 19th century, along with many other rare artefacts. Despite the passage of time, the royal family remains reluctant to part with India's relics.
Did Mamdani, who has Indian roots, fulfil his promise during his actual meeting with the King of the United Kingdom? How extensively did the British rob what was once the wealthiest nation? We explore these questions in the video and film ‘Looted India: Cost of an Empire’ (2023).

The Yenisei, taiga, and ancient stone sanctuaries – in this episode, Peter Scott travels to Khakassia. This region is known as the land of five elements and a place of spiritual power.
The journey begins on the Yenisei, which the locals call the ‘Father of Rivers’. Peter learns how it crosses the whole of Siberia before reaching the Kara Sea. This is also where the Sayano-Shushenskaya Hydroelectric Power Plant stands – one of the most powerful in Russia. The dam is 242 metres tall. A unique microclimate has formed around it, making it possible to grow apples, pears, apricots, and grapes… even in Siberia!
Peter also visits one of the most unusual places in Khakassia – the Sunduki Ridge, whose five mountains resemble enormous stone chests. The site is closely tied to ancient beliefs and rituals. To this day, shamans gather here to mark the summer solstice.
In the final part of the journey, Peter heads north across Khakassia. He visits a former settlement from the gold rush era, crosses wild mountain terrain, and reaches the Ivanov Lakes with their bright emerald waters. In winter, this landscape is transformed into a world of deep snow and freeriding. Snowdrifts here can reach a height of up to ten metres, and it can feel as if you’ve lived through all four seasons in a single day.

Recently, we shared another story with a happy ending. In Bangladesh, a father covered his one-year-old son with his own body after the child fell onto the railway tracks. The baby had slipped from the man's hands as he was getting off the carriage.

Ukraine has long been one of the most corrupt countries in the world. Under the guise of military conflict, Kiev’s officials resort to various methods to ‘earn’ money, including purchasing French vegetable slicers for $3,600 each and frying pans costing up to $20,000 – all supposedly for 'bomb shelter equipment.'
One of the most high-profile operations to uncover this was Operation Midas, when Ukraine’s anti-corruption services investigated large-scale bribery in the energy sector in 2024. Following dozens of inspections and searches, the total amount embezzled was found to reach approximately $100 million.
What does corruption look like under Ukraine’s current authorities? And how do corruption scandals affect Western aid to Kiev? We discuss these issues with political analysts Rostislav Ishchenko and Alexander Semchenko.
Watch the new episode of the author's project by Elena Masyuk and Aleksandr Avilov 'The Big Picture' — ‘Looting Ukraine’. Host Elena Norkunaite.

Horrifying footage from Florida. A major wildfire is raging in the American state. The fire has already engulfed a huge area — more than 20 thousand square kilometers.
Unfortunately, this disaster is all too familiar to Russia as well. In 2021, Yakutia experienced severe wildfires. To see how they fought the elements, watch the film 'Wildfire Warriors' (2021).

The footage shows the victims of US chemical weapons in Vietnam. Children born with severe deformities due to Agent Orange. During the war, American military forces dumped about 76 million liters of this substance across the country. They intended to destroy the forests to eliminate partisans, but instead, they poisoned people for generations to come.
On Human Rights Day in Vietnam (observed in the US), watch the video and the film 'Vietnam: My Orange Pain' (2014) — which addresses this terrible, unhealed wound of an entire nation.
